Michael Galvin Obituary

Our beloved Mike passed peacefully in the presence of his family at home on April 12th, 2023. Mike was born on October 19th, 1956 to the late Jim Galvin and surviving mother Louise Galvin. Mike is survived by his siblings Kathleen Becker, James Galvin and Dennis Galvin, as well as his wife, Laura Galvin, whom he married on May 19th, 1979. Mike was the loving Father to surviving sons Michael Jason Galvin and David Nicholas Galvin, adoring Grandfather to surviving twin granddaughters Saharah Rose and Karina Nicole Galvin. He will be especially missed by his niece Acela Vergara, cousin Suzie Ahern, and many other family and friends.
Mike retired from the Local Floor Layer Union (Member #1235) after working over 25 years with brother-friend Dave Figueroa. He was a creator of beautiful carpentry with childhood friend Robert "Moose" Berntsen. Mike was a lover of the great outdoors, concerts, barbecue, and pool gatherings at our home.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday April 22nd, 2023 from 2pm to 5pm at Duggan's Funeral Service, 3434 17th Street, San Francisco.

Mike was a great friend . We had many good times at St Paul´s Grammar School and at Sacred Heart High School . I still have a chrome snare drum that Mike sold to me. I regret not keeping in touch with him all theses years. My prayers to his family.

I will always consider Mike a Brother, from the first day we met at 5 years old until recently he has always been like family to me. I am very very happy we had time to meet this past October and share a lunch.. it was a perfect day at a local Marina restaurant! I will miss him dearly, we were connected by our love of Music and Cars!

I remember back in the 70s. When the four of us used to have party nights out in San Francisco. we would end up at the Punch Line Comedy Club.
Or a concert, maybe a Renaissance fair.Those were good times.
My condolences to Laura and her family.

My deepest condolences to the Galvin Family. Mike was one of the sweetest of classmates at St Paul´s. Running into him over the years was always a pleasure. He was funny, warm & kind, he is definitely missed!!
