Michael MCCREA Obituary
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Mike after battling cancer. He was born in Haliburton to Beatrice Hellewell and Vernon McCrea (deceased 1989).
He is survived by his wife Judy, his beloved children: Andrew, Tim (Amy), Chris (Kristen) and his precious grandchildren who were the loves of his life: Conor, Trista, Hunter, Liam, Olivia and Kylie. Also missing him are his pups Cooper and Chance. He was a loving brother/brother-in-law to Paul McCrea , Lynda and Fred Coady and Sandy and Steve Edwards. Mike has worked for Mabe (formerly Camco) for 44 years. He was active in baseball, hockey and golf. We would like to thank everyone who has supported us with visits, meals, baking and love: our amazing friends and family, the Juravinski Cancer Centre staff, Mabe Canada, the Ancaster Men's Slo-Pitch League, and our kind neighbours. Mike you will always be loved and remembered especially for your big hugs, smiles that took over your whole face, great laugh and the all encompassing way you loved each and every one of us. Mike wishes were to be cremated with no funeral service. However, as Mike always loved having his annual Grey Cup party, in his honour there will be a Celebration of Life on Grey Cup Sunday, November 20, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Marquis Gardens, 1365 Sandhill Drive, Ancaster L9G 4Z5. Any who knew and loved Mike are welcome to drop by and share a drink to celebrate his wonderful life. Arrangements entrusted to Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home, Ancaster (905) 648-3852. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to your local SPCA in Mike's honour.

Many great memories of Mike. He was a great business person and friend. My wife´s family lives in Burlington and Oakville and Mike and I always got together for a drink or dinner almost every trip I made from Louisville, KY. Our conversations drifted from work to family quickly. Mike left this world a better place. Rest in peace Mike.

Judy, I am so sad that you have lost Mike. Throughout my time at Camco, and also during the Mabe years, I valued Mike as an exceptional leader, friend and human being. His smile would light up the room as he laughed and joked with all the guys. He always made me feel welcome in your special circle of friends and I'm so glad he came to see us at the Irish Harp. I am so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I had the pleasure of working with him at Mabe/Camco and he was an amazing leader who was always willing to help and teach others. My fondest memories are his smile and infectious laugh. Although we have not seen each other for years, my heart goes out to Judy and the rest of Mike's family.

My sincere condolences to Judy, Mike's children and grandchildren, his colleagues at Mabe and throughout the home appliance industry. Mike was a distinguished leader in the home appliance manufacturing industry and was recognized for this when he was awarded the Home Appliance Industry Leadership (HAIL) Award in 2013 by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM). Mike was instrumental in bringing the North American industry together through the establishment of AHAM Canada in 2012. I saw firsthand the power of Mike's leadership and the respect for him from industry executives. AHAM Canada celebrated its ten year anniversary this year and made note of Mike's critical role in bringing appliance companies in Canada under the AHAM umbrella. Mike was the real deal and we enjoyed our time with him and will miss him very much.
