MICHALOPULOS Reverend Father Michael Reverend Father Michael Michalopulos, 77, of Endicott, died at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Friday, April 4, 2008. He is survived by his wife Magdalena; a daughter and son in law Katie and Harry Gianakouros, Binghamton, NY; a son and daughter in law Reverend Father Alex and Maria Michalopulos, Ottawa, Canada; five grandchildren Father Stephanos (Dean); Michael; Alexia; Nicoletta and Michaela. He was the priest at Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, Vestal, from 1981-2003, and was a Missionary Priest in Brazil and Argentina, South America, for 25 years. After his retirement in 2003, Father Michael served for three years at the Dormition of the Theotokos, Windham, NY and assisted his son Father Alex at the Dormition of the Theotokos in Ottawa, Canada. A Divine Liturgy will by presided over by Metropolitan Nicholas of Detroit; with participation of Metropolitan Evangelos of New Jersey; Metropolitan Epiphanios of Spain and Portugal and many fellow clergy, Monday 9 am at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, followed by the Funeral Service at 10:30 am. Burial will be in Saint Nektarios Greek Orthodox Monastery, Roscoe, NY, at the convenience of the family. A Trisagion Service will be held Sunday evening 7 pm at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, Vestal. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Hellenic Community of Ottawa, 1315 Prince of Wales Drive, Ottawa, ON K2C 1N2.
