Michael Toledo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 17, 2022.
With deepest sorrow in our hearts, we sadly share that Michael John Cruz Toledo, aka "Mikey", passed quietly away and returned Home to Heaven at the age of 54 on October 4th, 2022. He was born in San Francisco on March 16th, 1968, to Leonard and Lourdes Toledo who both preceded him in passing. He is survived by his immediate family: brother, Raymond Toledo; sister, Joyce Krause; brother-in-law, Kevin Krause; nephew, Dean Krause, as well as a beloved extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A treasured son, brother, friend, uncle, godfather and more, he was generous to a fault and just wanted everyone to be happy. He had a genuine zest for life and was game for spontaneous adventure with his wonderfully infectious laughter and bright smile. He could walk into a quiet room full of strangers and within 20 minutes, have arranged a party and made some lifelong friends. He was the guy you really wanted on your side & you could count on him to drop everything at a moment's notice and do his best for you any time of the day or night, if you needed help. He was passionate about helping others and was always ready with a good bit of advice - and if he didn't know how to help, he would do his utmost to find a way. A dedicated video gamer, specifically with any Roguelike and Sandbox RPGs, he could tell you the best ways to level up your character/s and how to absolutely annihilate any floor boss and score the best loot. Whenever the opportunity presented itself, he could be found happily camping and fishing anywhere while dreaming of the freedom of a nomadic lifestyle. He was called back Home too suddenly and we will forever miss him.

Final Services and Memorial Viewing will be held at the Neptune Society of Central California located at 798 S. 2nd Street in San Jose, CA on Friday, October 21st with a private scattering off the coast of Angel Island in the San Francisco Bay on Thursday, November 3rd.

The Memorial Viewing will be from 12:00pm - 5:00pm with the Memorial Service starting at 12:45pm, officiated by Father Manuel Barrios of St. John Vianney Parish in San Jose, CA. Relatives, friends and co-workers are welcome to attend, but please contact our dearest family friend, Todd Cramer via email no later than Thursday, October 19th via email at [email protected] to RSVP as attendance is restricted to 60 in the Chapel with standing room outside the doors.

The family is asking for their privacy and your patience during this emotional and difficult time. In lieu of flowers, please contact Todd if you would like to contribute towards Mikey's funeral expenses. A donation in his name will also be made to one or more of Mikey's favorite charities: Boys & Girls Clubs of America, National Parks Conservation Association, and Ocean Conservancy, among others.

when i went to the US, you and your friends took time to take me out. i have not forgotten and will never forget it... the car show, sake bomb and the party we went. you made me feel comfortable even though that was the first time we have talked and seen each other after so many years since you visited the philippines.

it was a shock of your passing. i know a lot will miss your presence. i pray to God to give you light to your path and may you rest in peace.

You were always there to save a damsel in distress, your infectious laugh, sarcasm and hugs will be missed by many. May friends and family have solace in your memories and adventures shared. Mikey would be the first to try and cheer you up and wouldn't want his friends ever sad. Cheers Mikey, thank you for always being an amazing friend.

Mikey, my brother, may your spirit blind us with light and adventures continue in the afterlife. I can´t believe you are gone. I am still in shock, there are so many things I wanted to do with you but never had the opportunity and I´m crushed. Every time you walked in the door the room would light up and everyone was happy to see you. RIP Mikey, you will always be close to my heart...

Mikey will be certainly missed so much. We are in disbelief. I'm glad we've known you over the years, but unfortunately not enough time was spent the last couple of years, and wish we could of. RIP Mikey.

I am still having such a difficult time believing that you´re gone. Rest in Peace and if you´re not already in Heaven, I hope that you´re in Another World, adventuring and being the Hero with a fantastic team of your dreams.
