From knowing Mike, he's taught me how to be a wonderful person. Mike was so amazing that he would learn your story and find something in you're interested in and educate himself on it. He had an open mind to just about everything. He would do it not to make you happy, but, to learn about something that made you happy and for you to have that in common to have a stronger bond. That quality is the main reason Mike is the greatest man I've ever known. I miss him every single day and I know he's watching over every single one of us.

I was in the first group of players Coach Williams coached way back in 1979 at WIU. He was a great coach and a great man. I know he will be missed dearly by his friends and family. God bless you coach. Bask in the infinite joy prepared for you in Christ! I look forward to seeing you again one day.

I remember coach walking into the UA weightroom in January 1995 being introduced as the new Linebacker Coach for our Zips. He made an immediate impact on me with his love for the game of football, instruction and honesty about mistakes we all made. He was there take us better players, but had us read articles on leadership to make us better men. His passing has brought a hole to many of our lives. He is dearly missed. I hope I can be more like coach everyday.
