HINKLE, Mildred Singer Mildred traveled to her Heavenly home on September 1, 2021. She was 92 years old. Mildred was born on June 29, 1929 and grew up in Brooksville, Florida. She graduated from Hernando High School in 1947 and moved to Tampa to take her first accounting job. In 1949 she married her hometown sweetheart, Oscar Hinkle. They raised four children together in their home on Grant Street. Their little home was a magnet for all neighborhood kids to play in the yard; mom never complained. They were married 42 years. She was a long-time active member of Concord Baptist Church where Mildred taught Sunday School, worked in the nursery and helped out where needed. She was a PTA member of DeSoto Elementary School volunteering to help out with many school functions over the years. Mildred was a friend to the young and old. Later in life she was the backbone to the "Barn" for over 35 years at the antique business along Hwy. 301 in Thonotosassa, FL She was loved by everyone that met her there. Mildred was preceded in passing by her husband, Oscar Hinkle; and son, Ronnie Hinkle. She is survived by her daughter, Gayle Womer (Ron); son, Randy Hinkle (Betty); and daughter, Wendy Hinkle; along with her grandchildren, Jenny Konow (Mark), Stephen Zeender, Jesse Hinkle, Danny "Dusty" Young, Crystal Crooks, Kim Ames (Mike), Michael Simmons (Stacey); her six great-grandchildren, Heidi, Colton, and Archer Konow, Emri and Georgie Crooks, and Joshua Ames; her sisters, Martha Stevens, Annabelle Hines, and Caroline Roth, and her sister, Ruth Kalch; and brother, Paul Singer were already home to greet her. A graveside service will be conducted 10 am, Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4207 E Lake Ave Tampa, FL 33610.
