Nancy M. Guzman (nee Farley), age 67, of Hobart, IN, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023.
Nancy was born on May 9, 1955 in Gary, IN to the late John Farley and Maxine (nee Davis) Nix. She married Donald Guzman on August 26, 1977 and spent 45 loving years together. Nancy worked as a lunch lady and paraprofessional with the School City of Hobart while her children were in school and as a home healthcare aid. Her dream was to own a restaurant and she opened Nancy’s Café in 2009; she loved to cook for anyone who needed a bite to eat. She was a selfless woman who enjoyed spending time with her family. In her quiet moments, she loved to fish -even if it was raining. Nancy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Don; children: Jack Mohoi, Angela (Bruce) Vazquez, and Danny Guzman; grandchildren: Alex Vazquez, Valonna Vazquez, Fiona Guzman, Raina Evers, Kyrstin Guzman, Maya Guzman, Makayla Guzman, Xavier Guzman, and Aria Guzman; siblings: Vickie (Larry) Goodman, Pam (Gene) Bush, David (Angela) Ramos, George (Pam) Shields, and Michelle Clem; numerous nieces and nephews; and best friend: Ruth Ampeliotis.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; her sister: Cindy Rindfuss; and grandson: Tristan Guzman.
Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel (600 W Old Ridge Rd., Hobart) on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 2:00-8:00 P.M. I miss you my beautiful sister-in-law you were more like a sister to me !! I babysat for your children and you babysat for mine. I've known you since we were teenagers and you used to come to our house and my grandmother would chase you and Pam out. I really loved it when much later you asked me to be your maid of honor when you married my brother. I really enjoyed fishing every weekend and hanging out at La Tulip Harbor and staying the night at your house and playing games all night long. Missing you my sister xo xo

Im sorry your families loss... My greatest memories of Nancy goes all the way back to the 1990's .. I would stop by their house to visit with friends.. An a soon as i walked in the door i was offered food an great conversation bout The Bulls or Boxing ... Or Movies or Music... I always enjoyed those moments .. An through the years i thought about them often .. Its not every day that we get to meet wonderful hearted people as Nancy ... I am forever grateful for all the good memories an nice conversations we would have at Her Restaurant .. Knowing Her always taught me to be more kind hearted an kind with every one around me ... - Tootie

She was the best. Love going there,,she would always stopped what she was doing -of course, cooking- to come out and give me a hug. .Always had a smile on her face, and you left there, full (the amazing donut burger) and not realizing , you were in the company of a fantastic person. .I have been going there for years, and when she had the fire at the other restaurant, I was really upset...then one of my friends called and told me she had another location, and , it was time for that donut burger- did I tell you she made the best? She will be missed , and my heart goes out to her family. I know the next couple of days will be hard, but I think the love of her family, sticking together, they will get through all of this....again,,,to one fantastic person- I have a message for you-- You were "ONE OF A KIND" and I will think of you often
