Nancy Sanuik Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 15, 2013.
Sanuik, Nancy Jane (Kavander)
On Saturday, April 13th, at the age of 70, the Lord peacefully called Nancy home after a long battle with cancer. Nancy was born in Yorkville, Ohio on September 1, 1942. She was raised in Cleveland, Ohio, the youngest of six children and graduated from South High School. Nancy married her teenage sweetheart, Gary; April 27th would have been their 50th wedding anniversary. Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Gary; daughter, Shelley; son, Jeff (Wendy); precious lights of her life, twin grandsons, Brett and Cole and granddaughter, Tatum. Nancy is also survived by three older sisters, Jill (Holt) Parma, OH, Fran (Barron), Vero Beach, FL and Judy (Reese), Parma, OH. She is proceeded in death by older brothers , Charles and Carl (BJ). Nancy is a beloved in-law, Aunt and friend to many. Nancy and her family moved from Wickliffe, OH to Phoenix, AZ 30 years ago arriving on her 40th birthday. Nancy was a 20 year veteran of Intel Corp. where she was instrumental in the implementation of training for administrative assistants and an advocate for the acknowledgement of the role they played in the success of the corporation. Nancy was heavily involved with Intel volunteer opportunities. She was a Valley Big Sister to a young a girl named Evelyn and was a founding member of the "Intel Benefit Show" who's proceeds continue to benefit community charities. Nancy loved to plan events but never cared to be the center of attention. Family was the primary focus of her life. She loved all the holidays and special occasions and made sure that everyone enjoyed their special day. Nancy loved to travel, summers included a month long stay in San Diego or Coronado; there where Fall Break trips to Disney World, Rocky Point, Niagara Falls and a Caribbean cruise with annual spring cruises with Gary to celebrate their anniversary. Nancy accepted everyone with unconditional love and will be greatly missed. A service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, May 2nd at Mountain Park Community Church, 2408 East Pecos Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85048, Ph: 480-759-6200; www.mountainpark.org. Visitation with the family will commence at 2:30p with a service to follow at 3:30p. Nancy's favorite "meal" was dessert, in light of that we will have a dessert buffet following the service. In lieu of flowers, Nancy requested a donation be made to Hospice of the Valley (Phoenix, AZ). Nancy also requested that no one wear black...red was her favorite color.

Nancy and I were in the same home room at Myron T. Herrick Jr. High school in Cleveland Ohio.. We had several classes together both in jr. High and at South High School. She was Avery pleasant person and had long and beautiful hair. Our condolences to Gary and the rest of her family. They are in our prayers.

I have known Nancy since I was 14 years old. She was a fine woman, a loving mother and an outstanding grandmother. She made her mark in this world and will be remembered.

Prayers go out to her children, grandchildren and husband, Gary, whom I also have known for most of my life.

The hole that Nancy left for all of us who knew her will be filled with good memories.

Love,
Frank (& Cathy)
