Neil Alfred Nelson

Celina - Neil Alfred Nelson, age 86, of Celina, Texas, passed away August 13, 2025. Neil was born May 4, 1939, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Floyd Alfred and Lenora Mary (Zorne) Nelson. He married Gloria Dean Block on July 14, 2001 in San Angelo, Texas. Neil was a firefighter with the San Angelo Fire Department for over thirty years. He proudly served in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Nelson of Celina, Texas; sons, Scott Nelson and Todd Nelson, both of San Angelo, Texas, Gregg Nelson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Steven Hubbard of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Tracy Heckel of Celina, Texas; grandchildren, Christy, Devyn, Misti, Drew, Joshua, Noah, and Emma; great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Jude, Zeke, Jordi, Jensen, Jireh, Delaney, and Everett; and sisters, Lynn Nelson and Sue Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Mark Andrew Nelson, Micheal Earl Nelson, Patricia Ann Keye, and his first wife, Jackie K. (Johnson) Nelson. Neil's deepest joy was seen when he was dancing with Gloria or enjoying time with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had a love for the word of God and clung to his faith in Jesus throughout his life. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
