Ms. Thigpen was there my first day of school. A grande lady who was so tall and regal with those glasses that hung neatly with a chain. Her smile to me calmed my first day jitters for this most important of days as I announced myself, "I am Betty Ann's friend". She warmed my confidence and always reminded me of that day. I cherish that memory!
