The Ocean City Beach community extends it deep and heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. The community is deeply saddened by the passing of Mrs. Thigpen. We may never know how far one person's love has spread, but we know how that love has graced our community. And we will treasure that knowledge forever. While we know that words are only a small gesture of support, we want you to know that her spirit has touched many people's lives in our community. We know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. And we find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love. We will continue to hold you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Ms. Thigpen was there my first day of school. A grande lady who was so tall and regal with those glasses that hung neatly with a chain. Her smile to me calmed my first day jitters for this most important of days as I announced myself, "I am Betty Ann's friend". She warmed my confidence and always reminded me of that day. I cherish that memory!
