Nicole Petersen Obituary
An artist with an array of talents, most notably in graphic design, Nikki will always be remembered for the gifts bestowed upon her. Her hilarious laugh, mischievous humor, her wild sense of adventure, her love of nature, fondness of video games, strong work ethic and for her glowing presence in the music scene. She will continue to be cherished for her tireless work with the unhoused population and social progress campaigns, as well as her unparalleled care for animals, especially her special needs cat, Moss.
Granddaughter, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, friend. Nikki leaves a legacy of light, love, hope and perseverance. To say there are many broken hearted but proud loved ones is an understatement.
To know Nikki is to adore Nikki, and there are countless souls who do and always will. There will be celebrations to honor her life, both in Boston and Richmond, this coming summer.

What can I say? There´s not a day that goes by and I don´t think about you, I´m sad that you are not here. I wish you were because I´m having a baby and I know you woulda been so excited to meet her in September. You would have told me all the ridiculous ideas I could dress her up as for Halloween. I miss you Nikki. Gone but never forgotten

I had never gone to Belle Isle before so Nikki and our friend Devin invited me to go with them. We spent the whole day walking the paths and climbing on rocks. Her and Devin tried to convince me to climb into one of the abandoned buildings but I said no convincing them that someone had to be able to stay behind and get help. Now whenever I think of belle isle I think of that day with Nikki. One of my favorite and only pictures with Nikki is from that day.

I was new to Atlee as I had just moved and had to change schools. I sat by myself at lunch most days since I didn´t know anyone until Nikki invited me to sit with her and two of her friends who also became my friends. She really knew how to make someone feel welcome and not so alone.

I remember the first time I spent time with her is when me and her were in the river for 8 hours straight just enjoying each others company and having good conversations. I miss and love her so much!

Nikki, I havent stopped listening to Lights and Cardboard Swords the last week, running memory after memory through my head of us causing chaos, listening to music, drawing eyebrows on Breslin, or covering Teddy with a blanket to see if he would get out or just lay down. I keep hearing you laugh talking about when Stryker became friends with a mouse or the misspelled rings at the cheap store in the mall. I run back every conversation I can remember and I just hope you know how much I love you. Forever my big sister. Our soul are tied.

I have to many to share; my favorite one would be whenever we would hang out at my house we would watch scary movies and my mom just adored her. To this day I still think my mom loves Nikki more than me aha. She was such a great friend and I will forever be heart broken over this. I just wanted to say thanks to her for bringing the best out in me when we were together .
