Norman "Buck" Belson, 89 of Palmetto, FL passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2010. He is predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Verna Williams Belson, and their infant daughter, Sandy. Buck is survived by his children – Norman & wife Jane, Clearwater, FL; Gary & wife Anna, Fernandina Beach, FL; Dorothy & husband Louis Theilen Sr., Belmar, NJ; Daniel & wife Gale, Brick, NJ; Yvonne & husband Ron Cales, Palmetto, FL; Karen & husband Johnsie McGuire Jr., Palmetto, FL; 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Born in Bradley Beach, NJ on January 1, 1921, Buck's early years were spent as a lifeguard for Jersey shore beaches. He enlisted in the US Army Air Corps in October 1942 and faithfully served his country in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a member of the volunteer fire department in Neptune City, NJ and a member of a local New Jersey musician's union for 30 years. He relocated to Bradenton, FL in 1982 at which time he was employed by Freedom Village. All arrangements are being made by Bradenton Funeral Home, 5827 14th Street West, Bradenton, FL. Visitation will be 6 – 8 PM Tuesday and services will be 11 AM Friday, both at Bradenton Funeral Home. Internment will be held at the Sarasota National Cemetery with military honors and five family members in their respective service uniforms. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tidewell Hospice.

I rented a room from them in 1973 on 5th ave on the lake had a pool in the back yard. Im working night shift now in the Poconos and their name came to mind. They were nice people God Bless
