She was a native of Beaufort and a 1947 graduate of Queen Street High School. She was also a graduate of North Carolina A & T State University, University of Oregon, and Tuskeegee Institute. After working with EBASCO Industries, E.R. Squibb and Sons Pharmaceutical and retiring from Schering Plough Pharmaceuticals, she earned a law degree at Seaton Hall Law School and opened her established law firm. She was a life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Her funeral will be noon Friday, at Queen Street M.B. Church with the Rev. William Ellison and the Rev. Bernard Lockett officiating. Burial will be in Oceanview Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter, Nina-Dawne Williams of Aventura, Fla. and sister, Violet Bailey of Beaufort.
Family visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. at Queen Street M.B. Church.
