MARION ELIZABETH NEWGARD Passed away at home on January 25, 2007 at the age of 97. Beloved wife of the late Morris T. Newgard. Devoted mother of Kennedy Newgard, Mark Newgard, Gary Newgard, and the late Craig Newgard. Cherished grandmother of Craig Newgard, Kimberly Ferrario and Eric Newgard. Loving daughter of the late Amos L. Bangle and Marie Bangle. Dear sister of the late George Bangle. A native of Oakland, Marion was a graduate of U.C. Berkeley. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and co-founder of the Craig Newgard Memorial Scholarship Fund in 1969 for the encouragement of African American 8th graders to attend college. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at the Burlingame United Methodist Church, 1443 Howard Avenue in Burlingame. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, donations to Craig Newgard Memorial Scholarship Fund, 1160 Galveston Street, Foster City, CA 94404 preferred. SNEIDER & SULLIVAN & O'CONNELL'S FUNERAL HOME (650) 343-1804

Mrs. Newgard walked me to kindergarten and was forever in my mind a a classy mother and woman to whom I always felt beholden and thankful for being the mother of a best friend and an icon in my life. God bless her and her efforts.
