Oma Linda Spor

Oma Linda Spor June 1, 1921 – May 13, 2011 Former Grand Junction resident, Oma Spor, passed away May 13, 2011 at the Mesa View Care Center in Tucson, Arizona. Oma was born on June 1, 1921 in Virgie, Kentucky to Shadrack and Sarah Tackett. Oma was the middle child of seven, two brothers and four sisters. She grew up in Kentucky, but also lived in Michigan, Florida, California and Colorado. While in Colorado, Oma was a bookkeeper for Woolco Department Store and a member of ABWA. Oma was married to Victor Johnson and they had three children. They later divorced. She was married to Robert "Bob" Spor; they had one child. They later divorced. Oma was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Tracey Tackett and Edgar Tackett; sisters, Pluma Ward and Cynthia King; one son, Leo Johnson; one daughter, Sharon Clark; grandson, Kane Johnson, and granddaughter, Lynette Clark-Colin. She is survived by her sisters, Nola Rea and Beulah Ward, both of Hemet, CA; son, Ronnie (Sabina) Johnson of Tucson, AZ; daughter, Robin (Chris) Madison of Grand Junction, CO; daughter-in-law, Esther Johnson of Westminster, CO; grandchildren, Joetta, Cathy, Shannon, Shelley, Michael, Emmie, Lucie, and Charlie. A memorial service will be held on May 27, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Desert Sunset Funeral Home in Tucson, Arizona. A family gathering in Grand Junction will be held at a later date.
