YARMOUTHPORT - Patricia A. (Nowak) Feeney, 77, passed away on April 17, 2007, with her family at her side, after fighting a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

She will be missed and forever remembered by John, her husband of over 56 years, her son, Brian, and his wife, Suzy, as well as Annah, her granddaughter, and Brent and Blake, her grandsons. She also leaves her brother, Andrew, and his wife, Gail, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was born in Boston on March 1, 1930, the daughter of the late John B. Nowak and Eleanor Farnen, and was raised in Chicopee. She later took continuing education courses at Smith College in Northampton, where she was also employed for 35 years as an administrative assistant to the president.

She lived in Northampton with her family until 1988, when she and her husband moved to Harwich. She began her second career as a legal assistant for the law firm of Hunt & Doherty, a position she held until May of last year.

She enjoyed playing golf, was a voracious reader, and loved to travel with her husband to Ireland, Russia and other countries in her later years.

She will be most remembered by her husband and son for her unconditional love for them and her willingness to put their needs ahead of her own. Throughout the years, she was called upon by them at challenging times in their lives and would always make whatever sacrifice necessary for the benefit of her family.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 19, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Morris & O'Connor Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond Drive, South Yarmouth.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, at 10 a.m., at St. Pius X Church, South Yarmouth, with burial immediately following at Chandler Gray Cemetery, West Yarmouth.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be made to to the Dana Hall School Scholarship Fund, Development/Alumnae Relations, P.O. Box 9010, Wellesley, MA 02482, where her granddaughter, Annah is presently a student.
