TRAINER PATRICIA "PATTY" (KINCH)
Age 58, of Monongahela, PA, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, following a courageous battle with glioblastoma brain cancer. Patty was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, and aunt who was dearly loved in return. Born August 7, 1959, in Oil City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry "Dean" Kinch and is survived by her mother, Alma Kinch, of Seneca, PA. Patty was the devoted wife of 14 years to Richard Trainer, Sr.; cherished mother of Bonnie Roxberry (Jay) of Elizabeth Twp., and Natalie Trainer of Monongahela; beloved grandmother to Jacob, James, and Annabelle Roxberry. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Linda Erwin (Michael); niece, Michelle Semprevivo (Tony); nephew, Michael Erwin (Caryn); great-nephew, Cruz; three stepchildren, Heather Maurer, Richard Trainer, Jr. (Heather), and Sonja Snyder; and eight step-grandchildren. Patty attended Cranberry High School and graduated in 1977. She then went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Business Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Master's Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Patty was a thirty-year dedicated employee at Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania. She began her employment at Goodwill as an Instructor teaching typing classes. Through sheer passion and determination, she advanced her career to the role of Chief Operating Officer where she retired from in February 2016, following her cancer diagnosis. Patty loved the mission of Goodwill and the individuals with whom she worked. Patty also served on the Board of Directors for numerous organizations located in Pittsburgh, PA. Those included: Dollar Energy Fund, Northside Common Ministries, Goodwill Housing Board, and Three Rivers Investment Board. Additionally, Patty was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Coal Center, PA. Patty was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a smile that was contagious and could light up a room. Patty adored her numerous pets and loved to travel. She enjoyed many family vacations to various beaches and to the Great Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. Patty was the type of person who positively impacted everyone she met with her thoughtful and encouraging personality. Patty will be tremendously missed and never forgotten. Friends will be received on Friday, March 23, 2018, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, March 24, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the FRYE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 427 W. Main Street, Monongahela, PA, where services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ken Custer, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church officiating. I'm sorry to say that I did not know Patty that well. But I have heard so many great things about her and her accomplishments at Goodwill. My heart goes out to your family at this time of sorrow.

For over 25 years I had the privilege and honour to know Patty at Goodwill as my boss, my co-worker and my friend. Her dedication to improving the lives of the people we served was focused and impressive. She did it with caring, a smile and a shared laugh. We are all better for her commitment. Along with this dedication she had a love of animals that warmed our hearts. She taught us so much on helping other organizations and encouraged us to work with partners outside of Goodwill. Her wish would be for us to continue this work. My deepest condolences for her family. Hers was a life well-lived. RIP

We don't often meet someone who makes us a better person, enriches our lives by just being with them. Patty made me a better person. Her kindness, her positive attitude, and her smile always made any day better. RIP my friend.
