HAVERHILL — Mr. Patrick Joseph Sheehan, 71, of Haverhill, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the Lawrence General Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 24, 1938 in Lawrence, son of the late Cornelius and Mary (Byrne) Sheehan. Pat lived all his early life in South Lawrence, graduating from St. Patrick's Grammar School and Central Catholic High School.
After high school he served a tour with the United States Navy and eventually went to work in the accounting office at J.P. Stevens in North Andover, where he met his former wife Virginia Eastman. When the North Andover plant closed, he went to work at Sanders Associates in Nashua, N.H. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Bentley College in Waltham, and went on to work at B.A.S.F. in Bedford, as a Senior Accountant until he retired in 1992.
Pat was very fond of playing 45's and often participated in tournaments. He also enjoyed traveling with his long time companion Priscilla White. Most of all, he was a devoted father and grandfather to his granddaughter Taryn Fox and his grandson J. T. Fox.
Pat is survived by his longtime companion Priscilla White of Haverhill; His daughter and her husband Kelley and Joseph Fox of Plaistow, N.H.; His son Michael Sheehan of Seattle; His sisters, Mary Alderson of Maynard, and Margaret Ouellette of Atkinson, N.H.; His brothers, John Sheehan of Ohio and Cornelius Sheehan of Louisiana; His grandchildren Taryn and J. T. Fox of Plaistow, N.H.; His extended family, Betsey Raymond and her husband Charles of Ashby, Barbara White of Leminster, David White and his wife Teresa of Moscow Mills, Mo.; As well as several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, June 4, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence.
