Hi Pete, It's been 17 years since your passing but I still think of you and the many cherished times and events you spent with Mark and I. You were the greatest Brother and role model we could have asked for. You were so unselfish and always looked out for us. You were always helpful to Mom and Dad and the rest of us. Your accomplishments in life were many and you set the standard high. You left us a wonderful Sister in Law in Yvette and two wonderful nephews in Jeff and Andrew. We are grateful for that and can see you in them as well. Till we meet again Bro.

Dear Yvette, Peter and Andrew - We just found out today of Peter's passing and like everyone else are greatly saddened. We really regretted losing you from the neighbourhood after Peter retired. Peter was always a pleasure to see and 'jaw' with because of his never failing sunny-ness and humour. Theresa certainly missed her bus ride conversations with him when they managed to hit the same bus. We will always remember Peter and think of you and your sons and grandchildren missing a grand fellow.

Being distant relatives, we were shocked to hear from Steve of Peter's passing at such a young age. Our deepest sympathy goes out to all of you on your loss of a wonderful man. In reading the entries, we were struck by the wonderful qualities he had. I know his parents and grandparents would have been proud of him and his accomplishments. We hope that our prayers will strengthen you to carry on as Peter would have wanted. We have not seen him for a long time but have fond memories of him as a little boy.

To the Ballard: Have had the honor and previledge to known Peter when I was NATO Staff when he commanded Iroquois and then when he was Vice CMDT at Fleet School. He was one hell of nice fellow and we spent many hours in conversation over the time. I hope for joy in your time of sadness as you think of all of the wonderful memories with time shared.

A good man lost - but not to be forgotten. We at Aircraft Services will be forever grateful for the support and effort Peter put into our working relationship. From helicopter hoists in Yarmouth to managing through difficult financial times he always maintained a positive and professional approach that helped us all to move forward. On a personal level, his good humour and wit were always appreciated. Our best wishes and condolences to the Ballard family for your untimely loss.

Dear Yvette and family our sincere condolences and prayers during this difficult time. I spent many wonderful hours with Peter in Fleet headquarters and on the road for various Fleet Executive Board meetings. He was always a gentleman and always a leader. An individual who never lost his sense of humour, his sense of duty and his dedication to making seafarers lives better. Peter always gave the straight goods and he made a real difference to the Coast Guard. In particular he often talked with pride of his family and their accomplishments. It can honestly be said that Peter paid attention to the small stuff and passed his passion for the sea on to a large number of our serving officers and crews. God Bless and keep you all close in his hands.

To Peter's Family,
Please accept my deepest sympathies for the loss of your husband and father.
I had the pleasure of knowing him at the CCG. He was a very special man, always smiling, whom I called "M. Pierre" since he had become bilingual. He was a hard worker but always had time to stop and talk with his Friends and colleagues. A true Gentleman.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.
Here is a short poem:
Maybe Stars are not Stars...
But rather openings in the Sky
... Where the Love of our lost ones pours and
Illuminates us to let us know that they are happy!..
Bon courage.
