Peter Calder Obituary
Peter (Pete) R. Calder, age 51, died unexpectedly of medical complications on November 10, 2012. He was born April 24, 1961 at Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh, WI, the son of Gerald and Beverly (Plotz) Calder.
Pete was raised in Oshkosh, graduating in 1979 from Oshkosh West High School and obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting in 1983 from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Pete was an artistic talent, whose creative drawing of the Sawdust Days button won the award in the year 1989. On August 4, 1984, he married Julie Ann Paulsen, his high school sweetheart, at St. Vincent Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Pete was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church where he served many years on the Church Council as well as teaching Sunday School. Pete was a dedicated hard worker with various companies within the Fox Valley area, as well as operating his own company.
Pete's greatest love was his family. He was proud of his children's academic and athletic achievements, attending many after school and weekend events. He also loved to camp with his family on the weekends. An occasional longer family trip was sure to create a lasting memory especially if a bridge was involved. He enjoyed working with children and was involved with scouting and shared his passion for football through many years of coaching. Pete enjoyed watching the Packers, the Badgers and the Brewers play. He also enjoyed playing softball and golfing with friends and family.
Pete was preceded in death by his father, Gerald E. Calder. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Adam and Ethan and his daughter, Lindsay. He is further survived by his mother, brothers, Todd (Mona) Calder, Timothy (Karla) Calder, sister, Connie (Dan) Wagner, mother-in-law, Janet Paulsen, brothers-in-law William (Victoria Frank) Paulsen and Ronald (Deb Andre) Paulsen, as well as his beloved nieces and nephews.
Pete, you left us too early. We will miss your kindness, laughter and stories. You were a supportive and loving husband and father, wonderful son and brother, and great uncle. You were a true friend to all. Your time on this earth was short but your presence will always remain.
A Celebration of Pete's life will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Calvary Lutheran Church, (2580 W. Ninth Ave., Oshkosh), with The Rev. Timothy W. Routh officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.

Could not believe the story today as I read it in a Face Book post. Pete was a real good gut who I knew in childhood through scouts and school. They lived a block away from us and I spent many days playing at their house as a child. I will remember him fondly. I will pray for his family.

I only knew Pete for a short time. I met him when I went to work for him. He was a good co-worker/supervisor. However, he was a great person because he cared for everyone he knew as if they were family. Pete you will be missed by the many people that you have touched.

My mother woke me up this morning to show me the paper that had Pete's initial death notice and I was in shock and deeply saddened.
Pete was such a great man. As a good friend of Adam's I always loved coming over because Pete was so fun to be around and shared a lot of the same interests Adam and I had.
Julie, Adam, Ethan and Lindsay- You are such an awesome family and are in my family's thoughts and prayers. I immediately sent Adam a message this morning and hopefully I will be seeing you all soon. I wish it was in happier times.
