McCALLA, Peter D. R. Peter D. R. McCalla died suddenly on May 16 at the age of 86. Pete enjoyed life. He shared love and laughter with family and friends. he delighted in people, his garden, music, travel and his granddaughters. Predeceased by wife, Lois; he will be deeply missed by companion, Joan Greene; sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Anna, Gordon and Peta, and David and Kathy; daughter, Joan; brothers, Robert (Bus) and Albert (Ike); and granddaughters, Blaire, Avril and Laurel; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22 at the Howard and McBride Funeral Home (10179 - 108 Street). There will be a reception at the University of Alberta Faculty Club at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Peter has asked that donations be made to the Edmonton Symphony Society (9720 - 102 Avenue) or the Devonian Botanic Gardens (University of Alberta, Edm. T6G 2E3).
