Philip A. "Phil" Metz

South Amboy - Philip A. "Phil" Metz, age 41 of South Amboy, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018. Born in Union Beach, he moved to South Amboy over 8 years ago to start his family. Phil graduated from Keyport High School and after began his career as a welder, working with JeyRei Industrial Shop located in the Parlin section of Sayreville. When he was not spending time with his wife and son, Phil was an avid model plane enthusiast, filling his basement with models which he worked on for years. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Phil was predeceased by his parents David & Barbara Metz and his father-in-law Frank Olszewski. Surviving are his beloved wife of 8 years Danielle Metz of South Amboy; his loving son Logan and unborn daughter Valentina Maria; his siblings and their spouses Alan & Maria Metz of CO, David Metz of Union Beach, Lorraine & Celestino Faginas of Union Beach, and Jake & Janae Metz of Leonardo; his dear Uncle Lance Fortenberry and wife Carol of Brick; his mother-in-law Val Olszewski of South Amboy; his sister-in-law and her boyfriend JoLynn Ellis & Jason Williams of South Amboy; as well as many loving nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:30am at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 3091 Bordentown Avenue, Parlin. Letters of condolence to the family, completed arrangements and directions may be found by visiting
