R. V. Redding

SOMERVILLE – R.V. Redding, age 82, formerly of Tuscaloosa, late of Somerville, Ala., went home to be with the Lord the morning of June 25, 2016. Mr. Redding was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and passed away in the care of hospice and family at his daughter's home in Northport. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2016, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be today, June 26, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Richard Redding and Susi Lois Pate Redding and his brothers, Louis Edward and Ervin Price Redding.
He is survived by his son, Darrell Redding of Northport, and his daughters, Teresa Brady (Donnie Keene) of Northport, Susie Hocutt (Jimmy) of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Sherri Campbell of Decatur, Alabama.
He leaves behind seven treasured grandchildren, Jennifer Jones Hudspeth (Andrew) of Holt, Michael and Sharon Hocutt of Lawrenceville, Georgia, M.J. Brady of Northport, Jessica Campbell of McCalla and Brad and Corey Campbell of Decatur, Alabama. He also had two great-grandsons, Landon Hudspeth of Holt and Blake Tosh Campbell of Decatur, Alabama.
The family would like to give thanks to Hospice of West Alabama, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Kirby, Doris and Daniel Klotfelter and the communities of Somerville and Peck Hollow, Alabama.
