Ralph C. Cutting Jr.

SOUTH YARMOUTH — Ralph Curtis Cutting Jr., 79, died on April 15, 2008.

A 62 year resident of Belmont, Ralph graduated from Belmont High School in 1946, and immediately joined the Marine Corps. Following his two-year stint, he enrolled at Tufts College and graduated in 1951.

He was a member of the Belmont Dramatic Club, Town Meeting, the Planning Board, the Historical Society, All Saints Episcopal Church; and he was on the boards of the National Scoliosis Foundation and the Lars Anderson Museum.

In 1999, he became a resident of South Yarmouth, where he became active in the Marine Corps League, the Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Cape Cod Tufts Club, the Historical Society of Old Yarmouth, and the Yarmouth Historic Commission. He was a member of St. David's Episcopal Church, where he served on the Vestry, and as a Lay Eucharistic Minister.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Winship) Cutting; his son, Ralph Curtis Cutting III; his daughter-in-law, Anne; grandson, Andrew Curtis of West Hartford, Conn.; and his sister, Eleanor C. Hendry of Bradenton, Fla.

A memorial service will be held at St. David's Episcopal Church, 205 Old Main St., South Yarmouth, on Friday, April 18, at 12 noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. David's Episcopal Church. Burial will be at a later date in the Cutting family plot in Guilford, Vermont.
