Reed Winslow Watson

Reed Winslow Watson passed away on June 7, 2025, at home in San Jose, California, at the age of 71. Born on April 3, 1954, in Hartford, Connecticut, Reed lived a life marked by curiosity, movement, and connection.

He was the son of Lois Reed Biza of Bradenton, Florida, and the late George Winslow Watson, who passed away earlier this year on April 28. Reed graduated from Northwest Catholic High School in West Hartford, CT and the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, AZ. His interests and talents led him to a career as a mechanical engineer.

Reed shared a deep bond with his father through their mutual love of cars-a passion that remained a constant throughout his life. He was also known for his affection for animals; those who knew him will fondly remember his beloved dogs: Lucky, Paws, and Smokey.

A true adventurer at heart, Reed traveled extensively across the United States with his family. He lived and worked in 6 states, forming lasting friendships wherever he went. Diagnosed with MS at age 41, he managed his illness with amazing inner strength, courage and grace.

Reed is survived by his mother, Lois Reed Biza; his step-mother, Marilynn Strauss-Watson, of Braintree, MA; his aunt, Lauralyn Watson Blanchard, of West Hartford, CT; his siblings Debralyn Watson Guerreiro, of Ocean View, HI; and George Russell Watson, of San Jose, CA (his roommate and caregiver since 2010); step-sisters: Kym Strauss MacNeil, of So. Weymouth, MA and Heidi Strauss, of Natick, MA; his beloved niece Kimberley Ann Cooper, of Eureka, CA; as well as cousins, extended family, and many friends.
