For the second straight year, my AP Literature class read and fell in love with "Rebecca", a novel introduced to me as a high school senior by Mrs. Stare. I do my best to emulate the passion and expertise that Mrs. Stare displayed when teaching duMaurier“s masterpiece, and many students have told me that this became their favorite novel. At the end of the unit, I share a tribute to the greatest teacher I ever had, and right then and there, Mrs. Stare gains 28 more seniors as admirers. If I ever become half of the educator and mentor that she was, my life and career will have been a success. I miss her. She was truly the greatest of all time.

Mrs. Stare was the greatest teacher I ever had. Now, as a high school Principal, I look for teachers with the qualities of this amazing, inspiring woman who can motivate learners the way Mrs. Stare motivated me. She is missed, and forever appreciated.

Jackie, Jeanette and family,
Memories flood my mind- the Sugar Path, dinner (cow) bells, loads of laughs and the lesson " you don't hate...you loathe"! Your Mom was one in a million! Now, all of our parents are playing cards, telling jokes and in peace. Sending my sympathy and love your way.
Love, Patty Marcus

My condolences to Regina's family. I have had the pleasure of sitting across from her every Wednesday night, at bingo, for the past 10+ years. The one thing that I learned from her over the years was that she loved her family. She talked about you all of the time and was so very proud of each and every one of you.
I am so sad that she will not be back playing the game she loved so much. We will miss her. I'm sure she is up in heaven right now yelling "BINGO".
I'm sorry that I was not able to attend her services. I will keep all of you in my prayers.

Mrs. Stare told me that you never tell anyone to shut up. You say be quiet. And hell has no fury like a woman scorned. I never forgot what she taught me. My sincere condolences. John villani.

Dear Jackie, Jeanette, and family,
I was so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. She was one of my favorite teachers...loved how she explained Shakespeare to us. Our parents were friends also and I knew her differently for that. She gave me some helpful parenting advise when I was expecting.my first child....the gist of it was.....you will get frustrated at times with a newborn, but that's ok. She gave me permission to feel that way....it was a great relief.
Hope you and your family keep wonderful memoriesof both of your parents and find comfort in one another and how many lives she impacted.

Ms. Stare (Shuber) was my 6th grade English teacher at Stacy Jr. High in `57`58. I remember her as a caring, challenging young teacher, who always helped us out in the learning process. Back then, teachers NEVER married; I was always taught by old-maid Irish spinsters, 1st-5th grades. We were all shocked..SHOCKED..when our beloved Miss Shuber became Mrs. Stare...LOL!!! May God comfort her family in their loss.

To Regina's daughters: Your mom was the bomb! One of my favorite teachers in Hopedale. I had the opportunity to speak with her phone when I organized a class reunion about 10-12 years ago. She was great and beloved.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Stare. She was a special teacher who kept her students on their toes and made them think! As an adult now, I truly value the lessons she taught! She joked in her class that if her students were to remember one thing from her, she hoped it would be that a lot is always written with a space between the a and the l. Well Mrs. Stare, this student hasn't forgotten and wants you to know you will be missed a lot. Thank you Mrs. Stare and may you rest in peace.

Mrs. Stare was one of most favorite teachers during high school. She never failed to take time away from her"preplanned" curriculum to listen to and help solve problems bothering the class. We learned so many life lessons from her. She and her husband were also friends of my parents and it would make us giggle when Jean would refer to her as "the Colonel". I truly loved Mrs. Stare and know she made a huge impact on my life. RIP dear teacher, dance with the angels!

Such a bright, passionate and motivating educator. I am fortunate to have been in her classroom in the 80's. I will never forget one of the stories she shared, of another class that was known to have a few students who were shall we say, a bit boisterous. She said that four boys had come in late for an exam and all told her they were in a car that ended up getting a flat tire. Well, being the wise lady she was, she told each to sit on a different corner of the classroom and face the wall, then handed them a piece of paper and a pencil and told them to write diwn which tire was flat. Ha Ha! What a bright and sometimes sassy gal. Hopedale alumni that took her classes were fortunate to have known her.
Personally, she used to tell me the Aqua Net hairspray was going to kill me as I was always spiffing up my hair during the school day.
What a gem. Rest in peace dear lady and thank you for influencing my life.
