Richard Albl Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 30 to Apr. 1, 2023.
Richard N. Albl passed away on March 29, 2023, at the age of 75. Richard graduated from Edwardsville Senior High School and served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a skilled carpenter and cabinet maker - a jack of all trades and a Master of ALL. He enjoyed corny jokes, singing at the top of his voice, sports, and automobiles.

Richard was devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife, R. Dianne; his sons, Brian (daughter-in-law, Stefanie) and Eric; his sister, Vicki; and his grandsons, Brendan and Nathan Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and B. Marie; his brother, Chris; his in-laws, Gene and Velma Kepner; and his brother-in-law, Don Kepner.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Unity Hospice and Palliative Care, 1604 Eastport Plaza Drive, #102, Collinsville, IL 62234 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 2309 West White Oaks Drive, #E, Springfield, IL 62704.

We met Rich when he coached little league with our son Jesse. He was patient with the kids and always encouraging. Good person, fun sense of humor.

I met Richard in 1976, played softball for Pizza King team. He married my friend Don's sister, Dianne. He was great friend, help with anything and was always there when needed - replacing a roof or a BBQ and horseshoes on a Sunday afternoon. Always fun, always cool. He will be missed.
