Richard J. Heckmann, age 81, passed away in Westwood, Massachusetts, on June 14, 2024. He was preceded by his late wife, Susan P. Heckmann. Richard was a long-time Norwood resident. Richard loved working as a materials manager for many years, most recently at Honeywell. He was an avid hiker and runner. He climbed many of New Hampshire's beautiful mountains. Richard had a deep love for music. His children fondly remember listening and dancing to his extensive vinyl collection. This collection included many Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Elvis, and Queen albums. He passed down his love of music to all of his family. They will always remember and cherish their memories of listening to music with him and traveling to see his favorite bands.

In honor of his memory, please donate to the Milford Humane Society (P.O. Box 171) in Milford, Massachusetts. This shelter is where his beloved cat Mellie was from.

A memorial service will be held for both Susan and Richard Heckmann at 11am on Monday July 15, 2024 at the First Congregational Church in Norwood, MA.
