April 13, 1960 - December 19, 2024

Richard C. Teglia, Jr., affectionately known as Richie, Dad, Nonno, Coach, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, in Kokomo, Indiana, at the age of 64 due to complications from ALS. Born on April 13, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, to Richard C. Teglia, Sr., and Carrie F. (nee Maier) Teglia, Rich lived a life filled with passion and love for those around him.

A lifelong hockey player and fan, Rich's enthusiasm for the sport was infectious and something he proudly shared with his children. He was also an avid fisherman who could spend countless hours casting lines and enjoying the serenity of the water. Known for his big heart and boundless generosity, Richie touched many lives with his kindness and unwavering support for others.

Rich is lovingly remembered by his children Tyler (Maggie) Teglia, Trevor (Jackie) Teglia, and Rina Lynn; his cherished grandchildren Haisley, Isabella, Nashlynn, and Dryden; his siblings Chris (Lilly), Tom, Todd (Elena), and Lisa; as well as his father Richard Sr. (Tamara) and nieces and nephews. His legacy of love and laughter will live on in their hearts forever.

To honor Rich's life and memory, the family will host a Celebration of Life on Sunday, January 5th, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Paisan's Restaurant in Cicero, Illinois.

Rich's warmth and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him as they celebrate his remarkable life.

I am crushed
Rich & I have been friends since his hair stylist days in Berwyn. I affectionately called him Da Rocket after Rocket Richarde the hockey player. Many fond memories from our day at Breeders Cup. And many laughs & great conversations over the years...sometimes over a pepper & egg "sangwich" @ Freddie's.
God bless you, my friend.
