Richard Glenn Zeller

Richard Glenn Zeller, 67, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on August 11, 2025, in Tampa, Florida.

Rick was born on August 5, 1958, in Indianapolis, Indiana, son of the late William C. Zeller, Sr. and Carolyn Keach Zeller. Rick is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Jennifer Moore Zeller, and four children, Richard G. Zeller, Jr. of Muncie, Indiana; Matthew Zeller (Amanda) of Muncie, Indiana; Alexa Kruger (Luke) of Indianapolis, Indiana; and Jena Leach (Stetson) of Franklin, Indiana. Rick is also survived by his two brothers, Steve Zeller (Vicki) of Columbus, Indiana and Tim Zeller (Pam) of Columbus, Indiana. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren Isabel Zeller, Thomas Zeller, Samira Zeller, Maxwell Redicker, Adriana Leach, Joyana Leach, and Kate Kruger. He was preceded in death by his brothers William C. Zeller, Jr., and Randall K. Zeller.

Rick attended Ball State University where he was Vice President of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. After starting his career with the Sherwin Williams Company, he joined Zeller Insurance Agency, founded by his father, in 1987. He became a partner in the agency in 2011. In 2022 Rick retired and moved to Ft. Myers Beach, Florida where he resided until his death.

Rick loved soaking up the sun and long walks on the beach with his wife Jennifer. Rick loved to entertain and cook for his family. He enjoyed celebrating life with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was an avid boater, piloting his "Nauti Hoosier" boat around the waters of south Florida chasing sunsets. Rick was skilled at working with his hands and building things, including two houses and two post-hurricane renovations at his home in Florida. He was a die-hard Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Hoosier fan. He was a long-time member of Harrison Lake Country Club in Columbus, Indiana.

He was a passionate but inconsistent golfer and loved to spend time with his lifelong buddies. Every year, Rick enjoyed get togethers and golf outings with his tight group of lifelong friends, most of whom he met in junior high school. When they weren't together, they were always talking about getting together. While the group will never be the same without him, they will remember his ability to make them laugh and always cherish his memory.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. The family asks that any donations or memorial contributions on Rick's behalf be made to Fort Myers Beach Strong (fmbstrong.org) or the Melanoma Research Foundation (melanoma.org).
