Ricky Knight

May 28, 1961 - October 28, 2024

Ricky Knight, age 63, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2024. He was born in Dallas, Texas, on May 29, 1961, and spent his childhood between the city and the tranquil shores of Lake o' the Pines.

Ricky was a devoted family man who cherished his loved ones. He shared a particularly close bond with his mother, Dorothy. He began his career as a surveyor, showcasing his meticulous nature and love for the outdoors. Later, he transitioned to Ben E. Keith, where he worked diligently until his early retirement to dedicate himself to the care of his beloved son, Josh Knight.

Known for his kind heart and helpful spirit, Ricky was always ready to lend a hand to his neighbors, particularly the elderly, with any task they needed. A true handyman, he found joy in fixing things and making life a little easier for those around him.

Ricky found solace in tending to his yard in his leisure time, creating a haven of beauty and tranquility. He was passionate about motorcycles and rock and roll. He cherished moments spent camping, relaxing with his family and dog. Simple pleasures, like dining out while listening to the stories around him, relaxing in the garage, or swinging on the porch brought him contentment.

In his final years, Ricky returned to his roots, building a home near his father's old property on Lake o' the Pines, where he went to school and grew up. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness.

Ricky is survived by his loving wife, Kay Nolen Knight; his devoted sister, Karen Lorang; his cherished son, Josh Knight; his loving grandchildren, Grayson Knight and Nicole Stanberry; and his dog Scooter. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
