Robert Alles Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 4, 2024.
Robert "Robbie" William Alles, 52, of Kingston, WA, transitioned peacefully in his home on March 7, 2024, which he shared with his Mom, Mary. She and his late father, Dick, dedicated their life and unwavering love to care for Robbie, who had a rare disorder called Williams Syndrome and battled complications due to renal failure.  Rob was born on September 2, 1971, and grew up in Edmonds, WA. Robbie also resided in Lake Goodwin, WA, and the surrounding area, Florida, and then Kingston, WA, for the past 5 years.

Wherever Robbie went, he touched the lives of all who knew him with his infectious laughter and warmth. One of Robbie's many gifts was his friendliness and the fact that he never forgot a face. No one was ever a stranger in his presence. He always had a big hug or hello to give.

Robbie is survived by his mother, Mary Alles, brother, Tim Alles, and sisters, Kim (Bryan) Eglet and Debra (Eric) Larson, along with his adorable puppy, Precious, and kitty, Lucy. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard "Dick" Alles, and brother, Richard "Rick" (Carrie) Alles. Robbie was also surrounded by a large, extended family who dearly loved him and was by his side until the end. Robbie passed just 1 day before his late father's 86th birthday.

His contagious laughter, warm smile, unfiltered sense of humor, and joy for music and people will forever be remembered. He had an uncanny way of touching the hearts of everyone he came in contact with and the ability to brighten any room.

One of Robbie's great passions was being an avid drummer, though he enjoyed playing multiple types of musical instruments. He loved music of all genres, from Judas Priest and AC/DC to Toto to Yanni.

He cherished moments spent with friends at the Stephen's House in Bainbridge and found great joy in swimming, bowling, participating in the Special Olympics, cooking, and hot rods, reflecting his vibrant spirit and zest for life.

We are all so blessed to have known such a unique, beautiful soul who always saw the good in everyone. If we could each embody Robbie's compassionate spirit, transcending superficial differences, releasing all preconceived judgments, and simply extend a friendly hello to initiate heartfelt conversations, we could foster deep connections that illuminate the world with warmth and understanding.

Robbie's enduring legacy will live on, shaping lives through ongoing research. His deep connection with music and people will continue to bring smiles and joy to all who are touched by it.

His body has been donated to a special genomic team of researchers and doctors at the University of Washington. His medical history is being donated to Columbia University Medical Center for the ACE for Williams Syndrome Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He also has donated all of his musical instruments, including his beloved drum set, to his favorite place to be in the whole world, the Stephen's House, Bainbridge Island, WA, where his joy for music will live on in all of the hearts of this incredibly special community program.

We want to give an extra special thank you to his Kaiser doctors and medical teams, who were dedicated to his care and by his side his whole life.

To leave you with one last smile, Robbie had only one joke he liked to tell often: What do you call a bear with no teeth? A gummy bear!

A Celebration of Life in honor of Robbie will take place in the comfort of his sister's home in Kingston on May 18th, 2024. For further details, please visit https://fb.me/e/7m0yRk8SF. Or, place in Facebook search: events celebration of life Robbie Alles

I remember Robbie back in the Everett Skatedeck days, coming to the rink with his mom while Kim and Debbie were practicing. He was always so happy and kind. My condolences to the Alles family.

My first memory of Robbie was his big smile .We shared a love of animals. I wish I had known he played drums. That is my instrument of choice. I was never as good as Robbie. Robbie the beat goes on. Miss you my friend.
