Robert Burr Obituary

Funeral service will be held for Mr. Robert Keith Burr, 42, of Saks, at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Saks Baptist Church, with the Rev. Daniel Harper officiating. Interment will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at the church. Mr. Burr passed away Monday, April 12, 2010, at his residence. Mr. Burr is survived by his wife, Sonya Burr, of Saks; daughters, Sydney Marie Burr, Anna Lee Stanley, both of Saks; son, Tyler Keith Burr, of Alexandria; parents, Robert J. and Thelma J. Burr, of Jacksonville; sister, Roberta "Robin" Givhan, of Puyallup, Wash., Sharon Ross, of Theodore; grandmother, Erna Burr, of Jacksonville, Fla.; nieces, Shanna Fleig, Sarah Ross; nephew, Steven Ross; great nephew, Gavin Fleig. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Fred and Mary E. Mange and Robert J. Burr Sr. Pallbearers will be Ben Iles, Chris Collins, Johnny Kelley, Chris Brown, Scotty Duke, Tim Bearden, Dana Mange, Gill Stringfellow. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Munroe, Mike Lipscomb, Don Gross, Don Crider and Mike Davis. Mr. Burr was a Alabama native and lifelong resident of Saks. He graduated from Alexandria High School, one year at Ayers. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He was past commander of AWANAS for ten years. He was a member at Saks Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Saks Baptist Church Youth and AWANA program. We wish to thank Wiregrass Hospice nurses and staff, Dr. Chalk, Dr. Claussen of UAB for their love and compassion.
