Robert Joseph Huyck

Robert Joseph Huyck, age 86, of Arcadia, IN, died December 26, 2016 at Maple Park Village with his loving family at this side. He was born May 20,1930 at Arcadia, IN to Robert John and Amy Olive (Walker) Huyck. He was a graduate of Jackson Central High school with the Class of 1949, then upon receiving a football scholarship furthered his education at the University of Evansville. The Korean War saw him enlisting in the U.S. Navy where he honorably served his country aboard the destroyer, USS John Hood. Robert was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church at Cicero, IN. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, learning from nature and just being outdoors. Indoors, he loved to play cards games with his favorite being the game of Euchre. On February 28, 1957, he married Carol Ann (White) Huyck and to them was born two sons: Gregory (wife, Sonya) Huyck and Christopher (wife, Emily) Huyck. They survive him along with additional relatives including nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Robert Joseph Huyck, Jr.. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 410 South Pearl Street, Cicero, IN 46034, with the Rev. Dale Ehrman officiating. Burial will follow at Cicero Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 until 10:45 A.M. prior to the services, also at the Church.
