Thank you for what you brought to this world. Perseverance. I first heard the song Sad Eyes in Baltimore 1979. I was first annoyed with the song but in time, it was my childhood memory song. Luckily, my English comprehension was poor as well as recalling lyrics. LOL Bill Neale´s guitar, Darlene Love´s background vocals, Dennis Belfield bass, Stuart Levine keyboards and Ed Greene drums won me over as well as your vocals. The Billboard No. 1 hit songs book really helped understand of how hard it took you to get there from your first hit in 1958 to 1979. That you gave up the music business and worked in construction before your former producer asked you to record Sad Eyes. Thank goodness. To your family that supported you. Thank you.
