Robert Riggs

RIGGS, Robert Dalrymple Passed away peacefully on December 10, 2010 with family by his side. Born March 16, 1927 in Falkirk, Scotland. Much loved husband of Kitty, with whom he shared 60 happy years of marriage. Loving father to Jeanette Pryor and her husband Eric, Ian and his wife Nancy. Proud grandfather to Ian Pryor and his wife Jane, Tara Pryor, Jamie and Cailey Riggs, and brand new great-grandfather to Emma. Caring brother-in-law to Jeanette Smith, Wilma Riggs and Una Dalgleish. Special Uncle to nieces and nephews, Stephen Bevan, Alaistair Riggs, Jane Donald, Susan Anderton, Norma Kerr. Predeceased by siblings Jim, John, Jean and Alaistair as well as sister-in-law May and brother-in-law Ivor Bevan. Bert, as he was known to the family, reveled in time spent together with them, enjoying life's pleasures. Bob, as he was known to friends and colleagues, spent his career as a home builder, beginning as a carpenter, overseeing the construction of Blackburn Hamlet and most proudly founding and presiding over Muirfield Homes. The values he instilled and the wisdom, joy and pride he so freely and lovingly shared will live on as happy memories for his family and friends. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor), Ottawa, on Thursday, December 16 from 10am until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 12 noon. Thanks to the staff of the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus for their caring compassion.
