Roland Simms Obituary
Roland Heinz Simms entered in to eternal rest on July 21, 2015 at the age of 71 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born to Sigmund and Therese Simms on April 21, 1944 in Bamberg, Germany. He is preceded by his parents. Roland will be survived by his wife Annerose Simms, daughter; Caroline Garcia and Christina Farrow, granddaughter Kaleigh Simms, son Gilbert Garcia, and dog Bella and JoJo. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 29 at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Helotes at 11:00 a.m. followed by a committal service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.

What a sharp looking trooper! We both share the same birth date,and military heritage. I spent ten wonderful years in Germany while in the military,and my wife of 60 years was born in Berlin.

Opa was more of a father than a grandfather to me. He was a caring and strong man who always pushed me to do my best. We all loved him, even when he acted grouchy. Opa had the biggest heart and always left an impression on those he met. He impacted so many lives and we will always hold him dear in our hearts.
