MUNCY Ronald A. Heist, 71, passed away Friday, October 8, 2010, at the Williamsport Hospital. Born in Lebanon, on June 19, 1939, he was the son of the late Elmer E. and Pauline B. Shutter Heist. Ron graduated from Lebanon High School and then Atlantic Community College. He was a Vietnam Veteran and proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 21 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and golf. Surviving are two sons, Ronald W. Heist, Sr. and wife, Dawn of Lower Bank, N.J., and Gary L. Heist and wife, Donna of Egg Harbor City, N.J.; two daughters, Jennifer Ann Heist and fiancé, John M. Leavitt of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Michelle K. and husband, John A. Pabst of Egg Harbor City, N.J.; a sister, Judith Loose of Muncy; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Reinhart. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. from the Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville, 17003. Interment with full military honors will take place in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Dad we cannot believe you are gone. I keep hoping to wake up and find it was all just a horible dream. Your memory will be in our hearts forever.
