Ronald Robert Hiller

Ronald Robert Hiller, 69, of Ashford, CT, passed away on December 18, 2023 surrounded by his family. Despite suffering from Multiple Sclerosis for 50 years, Ronald loved life. Spending time with his family and friends brought him joy, and he especially enjoyed playing cards with his good friends, Elizabeth and Steve Jacobs.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carol Ferguson Hiller, and his son Michael Hiller of Ashford, CT. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Nolan Hiller, Jaden Hiller, and Alexis Hiller. Ronald is also survived by his four brothers: William Hiller Jr. (Janet Siladi) of Colebrook, CT, Timothy Michael Hiller (Carol Hiller) of Winsted, CT, Donald Herman Hiller of Winsted, CT, and Timothy Daniel Hiller (Alison Hiller) of North Kingston, RI.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Hiller Sr., and his mother, Alice Murry Hiller. Ronald joins his mother on the 19th anniversary of her death.

Ronald graduated from Gilbert High School in 1973. He later worked for Scan-Optics in Manchester, CT as the Shipping and Receiving Manager. After retiring from Scan-Optics, he worked for three summers at the Hole in the Wall Camp in Ashford, CT.

Ronald was proud to have volunteered for the Winsted Fire Police for 10 years. He also enjoyed coaching midget football in Manchester and Willimantic, CT.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 30 from 2:00-4:00 pm at the Colebrook Firehouse, 300 Colebrook River Road, Colebrook, CT 06021.
