Ronnie W. Edwards BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. II Cor. 5:8 Ronnie W. Edwards, age 60, went to sleep in the arms of Jesus surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, March 24, 2011, at his home. He was born May 22, 1950, to the late Claude Edwards and Juanita Puckett Edwards and had lived in Sullivan County, Tenn. all of his life. Ronnie was a self-employed carpenter and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Edwards, a sister, Sandra Allen, and a nephew. Survivors include a loving wife of 41 years, Burdetta Mowdy Edwards; sisters, Peggy Ramsey and fianc‚, Charles Sparks, of Kingsport, Tenn., Patsy Phillips and husband, Jerry, of Largo, Fla.; brothers, James Edwards and wife, Catherine of Bell, Fla., Larry Edwards and wife, Betty, of Bristol Tennessee; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and special friends of 35 years, Henry and Margaret Casey. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2011, from the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Earnest Steffey and the Rev. Malcolm Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Immanuel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Roberts, Ernest Frye, Steve Hensley, John Allen, Justin Steffey, Joe Edwards, Thomas Blaylock, and Phil Mowdy. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 27, 2011, at Weaver Funeral Home or anytime at the home of his sister, Peggy Ramsey, at 221 Sioux Dr., Kingsport, TN. The family extends a special thank you to Holston Valley Hospital ICU and to Wellmont Hospice. I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Ronnie.He is my cousin and was a very special person in my heart.My heart goes out to his wife and family.I know he is in Heaven now with Aunt Sis,Sandy,Billy..,His work was completed here on this earth.Ronnie you will be missed,,I wish I could be there but right now I;m in New Orleans but know that my heart is with each and everyone of you.I love you Ronnie.May you RIP...Barbara(Simpson).Wikowsky
