To The Slade Family:
I was just talking with a friend and she told me about Ross. I had not heard about his death. I knew Ross when he worked at Jefferson Standard/JP Life Insurance Company. He and I would talk and he was such an upbeat person and a pleasure to know. My deepest sympathy to the family.

I met Ross over 20 years ago when I sold real estate in the Greensboro community. His professionalism, willingness to help and wonderful personality will always be remembered. Ross truly cared about people and when you encounter a person like that, your life is forever changed in some shape or form. I know that his presence will truly be missed. To the Slade family, my most sincere and deepest sympathies.

I met Ross in the 90's, and was richer as a human being for it. I since moved away, but will always remember a decent and kind man, and wish that I had the time to have known him better. May The Good Lord bless his memory to all who loved him.

I am a Jew originally from New York City, and I loved this man, and always will love him. I mention this only as a testament to Ross's worldliness and inclusivity. As the opening sentence reads, "Ross Dennis Slade lived, loved and brightened the lives of those around him just by being himself." So true! Ross was a gentle giant of a man, very reserved personality-wise; however, he had quite the twisted sense of humor at times. He was kind, compassionate and always willing to help a friend out in need. I knew Ross for the last 14 years of his life, and I miss him so much already. However, I will always keep him in my heart and soul, of which he will always be a part. My life has been made so much better for having had Ross Slade be a part of it. Ross, you were THE BEST!!!!

I didn't know him for a long time;just under 2 years. I'm happy to say that he was a great friend to me. I truly enjoyed his unique personality and positive demeanor. He always knew how to make smile and I knew he appreciated me as I much I did him. My only regret is that we never met face to face. I knew I would have enjoyed his company. To the family and friends, you have my deepest condolences and hope for spiritual healing within. The best thing we can do is to reflect the joy he gave us and keep it shining bright...

Although I knew Ross briefly in this timeline, what I will always remember is his ability to give and be generous. May he find eternal rest & peace in his soul. Let God Bless the Slade Family during this time of sorrow.
