Russell Corwin

Russell Eddie Corwin, 74, a resident of Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center, Waterloo, died on Monday, October 18, 2010 of natural causes. He was born on April 24, 1936 in Cedar Falls; the son of Floyd and Irene McClure Corwin. Russell had worked in maintenance at the Evergreen Bowling Alley and also at the Hillcrest Drive-In Theatre and had worked for Goodwill Industries. Most recently, he worked at Fairview Cemetery, retiring in 2009. Russell was known as a “bicycle rider and a man about town.� Russell was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bonnie Jillette and Fay Chiffers and brothers William Corwin and Dale Corwin. He is survived by 2 brothers, Floyd “Junior� Corwin and Lyle (Fannie) Corwin, both of Waterloo, a sister, Darlene Meyers of Evansdale, numerous nieces and nephews and his special friend, Peggy Brallier of Waterloo. No services are planned. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories assisted the family. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Cedar Valley Hospice.
