Lois, lifting you up as you celebrate Russ' life and legacy

Mr. McPherson was a wonderful man and friend. I always enjoyed the conversations we would share after services at Christian Heritage. As an usher, looking over and seeing him sitting with his wife always made me smile, as I knew it meant I would be able to share a few minutes of fellowship with them that day. Mr. McPherson reminded me of my late grandfather: A kind, sweet, and gentle soul who devoted everything he was to Jesus. When I would come up to him at church he would always greet me with, "Hello, my friend!" It was a such a high honor to be called a friend by a man of his character and the love he had for everybody around him. Being 21 years old and knowing him for close to ten years, I always valued his wisdom and guidance as a young man. I am going into my senior year of college and my first year as a leader in Chi Alpha Campus Ministries, and I will be dedicating this year and this leadership opportunity to Mr. McPherson. I know I will see my friend again in Heaven one day. My deepest condolences to Mrs. McPherson and the entire family.

Oh my Ekrich hot dog man! Crying here as I think of all the ways you brought glory to God, the way your smile made others feel valued and loved and all the jokes you and your buddy, Dave Counseller, my dad, would tell. A mighty servant, I'm sure you heard' well done good and faithful!', will miss your hugs. Until we meet again, my friend. Our hearts hurt with you all, Gary, Michelle and family. Love, Marty and Sandy Stilla

He was my first impression of what a Christian family should be like, I met him at Westshore assembly of God. A man of compassion through him. I saw the love of Jesus In him and his family,,, Thank you God for allowing me to know such great examples for Christians.... May he rest in peace and may the Lord bless his whole family

Christ was the center of Russ's life. Russ was always interested in the Ewing family and never forgot his Gavers connection. As a Gavers boy, I connected with him and we had great conversations. He is celebrating as we mourn his passing here on earth.

It seems like I have known Russ my entire life. I call him family. Gary, his son is married to my cousin Michelle. That's how we met. He has never made us feel anything less than family. He was a gentleman with a soft sweet spirit. He loved the Lord and had no problem sharing Jesus with anyone that he met. His smile lit up a room. He will be missed at the family get gatherings. Always and forever in our hearts. You're important to us!

I remember meeting him and Lois on a lay witness mission. Their car broke down. My dad offered him ours so they could get home. We went home with friends. That's how the miraculous friendship started. He and Lois and the boys have always been extended family to us. Until we meet again Popa Russ. Your daughter Mindy.
