After surviving 2 bouts with cancer, Sachiko "Sachi" Matsuo, 78, of Stockton died unexpectedly October 8 in Dameron Hospital of a heart attack. Sachi was born January 3, 1938 near Tacoma, WA, the daughter of Yutaro and Oito Takehara. She married Masami Matsuo in 1962 in Stockton, CA. Sachi was employed by the Stockton Unified School District as a Materials Clerk for 26 years until her retirement in 2005. She gave much of her time to the PTA and other school activities. She was an aspiring bowler having learned from professional bowler Betty Morris. Sachi's love of sports also included professional teams, especially the Sacramento Kings, SF Giants and SF 49ers.

Sachi was preceded in death by her husband Masami; her parents; and her brothers John and George. She is survived by her sons Mark and his wife Anna of Stockton; John, his wife Shannon, and their children Joshua (Willison), Reina and Hailey, all of Citrus Heights; her brothers Tom; David and his wife Frankie, all of Washington; 8 nieces and nephews; and 12 great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be private.
