Sandra Bodaford Phillips Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 26, 2025.
Savannah - Sandra L. Bodaford Phillips (December 25, 1959 - August 24, 2025), 65, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025. Born on Christmas Day, 1959, Sandra brought light, warmth, and joy to all who knew her.

To her children, she was their Sunshine-a constant source of love, strength, and light. To her grandchildren, she was Mema-a warm and guiding presence who showered them with affection and made every moment special.

Sandra had a deep love for the ocean, music, fishing, and horses-passions that reflected her free spirit and deep connection to nature. She loved her family more than anything, and her life was defined by her devotion to them. Above all, Sandra's greatest love was for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith was the foundation of her life, giving her strength through trials and peace in her final days. She found joy in prayer, worship, and sharing God's love with those around her.

She is survived by her two devoted daughters, Amie Blackston (Corey) and Amanda Green (Tyshawn); five beloved grandchildren, Alaura Heredia (Dario), Kaci DeRouen, Caleb, Caden, and Chayton Santini; and four treasured great-grandchildren, Daniel, Nathaniel, River, and Angelina.

Sandra also cherished her friends dearly. Her loyalty, compassion, and warm heart made her a true and lasting friend to many.

Her passion for music and animals was a defining part of her soul. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, her unwavering faith, her deep love for others, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.

A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.

In loving memory-her song lives on in the hearts of those she loved, and her spirit rests joyfully in the presence of her Savior.

Sending my Condolences to Amie, Amanda and families. I met Sandy during my junior high school years. My sister and I would go to the Bluff and ride horses with Sandy and her cousin Tammy. We had so many good times riding on the trails. We would visit Bubba and Papa´s farm often. I spent many weekends with her during the summer months. They were wonderful times.I remember visiting her after I left home and I believe she was pregnant with Amie at the time. I lost track of her through the years as I moved away, and we began to start our families. I found her again on Facebook and followed her for a very long time. She was a very loving person a very caring person, and she had an infectious smile. My last time spent with her was a school reunion she held at her farm. I´ll never forget it. We laughed so much that night. she will be missed for sure. Rest in peace, dear friend. I will be praying for peace and comfort in the days ahead for you all God bless.!

Amie, Mandy and all her other babies who stole her heart,
There are no words for the loss of such a beautiful person as Sunsine, BIG Sis was. We go way back, shared many laughter, heartbreak, smiles, messages and phone calls. She was one person who would have walked miles to help another.
Life will have a huge hole in it. Whether near or far, you could never forget her.
May God comfort all of you at this time and those to come.
Always here if yall need me.

Love Aunt Karen and Dennis
