THREE RIVERS - Sarah Jessica Matheny, age 28, of Three Rivers, died peacefully Friday, July 20, 2018 in her residence. She was born March 28, 1990 in Three Rivers, Michigan.

Sarah had a big heart. She loved her family, especially her daughter, and she loved animals.

Sarah will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Emilee Brooks; mother, Wendy (Ron, Jr.) Hammon of Three Rivers; father, Delmer (Linda) Matheny, Jr. of Cassopolis; maternal grandmother, Joan Fesler of Three Rivers; paternal grandparents, Delmer “Buddy” and Betty Matheny, Sr. of Dowagiac; three sisters, Amanda Matheny, Madison Hammon, and Megan Hammon, all of Three Rivers; six brothers, Justin Matheny, Kody Matheny, Noah Hammon, all of Three Rivers, Micheal Hilyard of Rosebud, Arkansas, Kevin Lytle of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Dakota Matheny of Cassopolis; aunt, Amy Pirkel of Three Rivers; uncles, T.J. Fesler of Florida and David (Susan) Matheny of Coloma; boyfriend, Keith “Meho” McLeod, Jr. of Three Rivers; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, James Micheal Ackerman; and grandparents, William and Jane Milliron.

Family and friends will gather Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 4:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 11:00a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Oliver officiating.

Ms. Matheny will be laid to rest in Keeler Cemetery in Keeler, Michigan.

The family prefers memorial contributions in Sarah's memory be made to Saint Joseph County (Michigan) Animal Shelter, Post Office Box 252, Centreville, Michigan 49032.
