LAMMIE Shirley Donovan Lammie of Atlantic Beach died January 10, 2018. Born January 26, 1933 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, she was married for 65 years to the love of her life, James Lammie, traveling the world with him during his career. During her husband's frequent travel and overseas assignments, she lovingly held the family together, teaching her children life and family skills through her generosity and commitment. A registered nurse, she was a dedicated and empathetic volunteer for community and church causes. Shirley was always a fountain of love and encouragement to her family and many friends, a woman of great faith and beauty, inside and out. She was fun and quick-witted, and she loved family stories, chocolate, raucous laughter, happy endings, color, classic fashion and word games. Shirley leaves behind her husband and three children and their spouses, Dr. John and Nancy Lammie, Dr. Patrick Lammie and Maureen Braun, and Michele (Lammie) Moores and her husband Dr. Russell Moores. Mimi is survived by 7 adoring grandchildren and their spouses: Christopher and Erin Lammie, Colin and Molly Lammie, Meghan (Lammie) Glenn and Christopher Glenn, Caitlin Lammie and husband Jerome Greba, Quinn and Kate Lammie, Aaron and Katie Moores, and Colleen Moores. Mimi also had a dozen great grandchildren: Virginia, Audrey, Maggie, Ian, Aidan, Garrin, Hyland, Sennett, Finley, and Joshua Lammie, as well as Simon and Meade Glenn. Shirley is survived by three sisters: Patsy Jacob, Margery Schneider and Kitty Donovan. She was preceded in death by her sister Jeanne Povelitis, her brother John Donovan, and her grandson Patrick Lammie. The family extends special thanks to her sister Marge and nephew Craig for their unending love and support during this time.
