Mrs Powers was my English teacher at Piper High in 1973. She pushed me into the debate club. Best thing I ever did. I became a teacher years later (recently retired after 45 years). I always wondered about her and thought of her often. She was an amazing person and teacher. Rest in paradise. Thank you for the gift you imparted on me.

For over five years, I had the privilege of caring for Shirley-not just as her home health aide, but as someone who grew to deeply admire and love her. Shirley was more than a patient; she became a cherished part of my life, like family.
Her strength, humor, and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Through every conversation, quiet moment, and shared routine, Shirley taught me the true meaning of grace and resilience.
I will miss her stories, her smile, and the light she brought into each day. Though she is no longer with us, her memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Rest in peace, Shirley. Thank you for letting me be part of your journey. You will always be remembered.
With love,
Dawn
