Shirley Rivere Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 13 to Jul. 16, 2021.
Shirley Ann Ricks Rivere passed away peacefully on Friday, June 18, 2021 at the age of 89. She was the cherished wife of 61 years to the late Raymond Henry Rivere Sr. Loving mother of Shelly Rivere Nickolaus (Eddie), Raymond Henry Rivere, Jr., and Rory Steven Rivere (Kelly). Proud grandmother of Devin Rivere (Ashley) and Dianna Nickolaus. Great-grandmother of Emily Kirkpatrick, Ashton Rivere and Dylan Rivere. Sister of Mary Ann Mailhes. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Edward Ricks & Catherine Donovan Ricks and her beloved daughter and son-in-law Shelly & Edward Nickolaus. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many relatives, cousins and dear friends. Shirley was born in New Orleans, LA and was a resident of St. Bernard Parish until hurricane Katrina, finally settling in Picayune, MS. She truly enjoyed life through her simple pleasures of visiting the casino and caring for her family. Her devotion to her Swiffer was surpassed only by the love for her family and friends. Shirley will always be remembered for her loyalty and dedication to her family, her fierce independence, her laughter, and spoiling the grandchildren. She was a wonderful example of what it means to care for others and will be deeply missed by us all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, July 16 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am, followed by a Memorial Mass in Shirley's memory beginning at 11:00 am. She will be laid to eternal rest with her beloved husband Raymond in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. To view and sign the Family Guestbook, please visit www.stbernardmemorial.com.
