Shirley Teteak Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 26 to Mar. 31, 2024.
Naples - Shirley May Teteak, 89, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024. She was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin on July 16, 1934, to Elizabeth and Edward Baines. Shirley married Deral Teteak in Madison, WI on Feb. 12, 1955, when she officially became a football wife. Deral and Shirley were blessed with three children, Peter, Lynn and Jack and three grandchildren: Myles (Beth) Teteak, Katey (McClain) Southwell and Benjamin Jones. Shirley also had six great grandchildren. Shirley leaves behind her sister Donna (Dale) Kelley. She was preceded in death by her husband Deral, her son Jack and her sister Patricia (Dick) Hart.

Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Being that she married a Green Bay Packer who then coached the Wisconsin Badger football team for 11 years, she was a rabid football fan to the end. Shirley's father was 100% Irish and she loved all things Irish. St. Patty's Day was always her favorite holiday and to quote her grandson Myles, "The party in heaven just got a little bit better. The feisty Irish woman made it just in time to celebrate St. Patty's Day with the rest of her Irish family."

Her granddaughter Katey expressed her feelings this way and I think she speaks for all of us. "Heaven gained a beautiful angel today. My sweet grandma Shirley went to be with my grandpa. While my heart is broken, I find so much comfort knowing she is reunited with so many people who she has missed for so long. She lived such a happy, full, wonderful life. Never taking a single day for granted. She was feisty, sassy, hilarious and so dang special to me. She always kept the whole room laughing, fed and no glass was ever empty at happy hour. She was my spirit animal, my soul mate, my flower girl at my wedding! My Mom always told us we were two peas in a pod. We have so many amazing memories that we'll hold onto forever. The world feels a little empty now that this magical lady is gone. She was so, so magical. Rest in peace, Grandma Shirley. We will hold you in our hearts forever."
